Helping Hands Holiday Donation Drive For Children in Foster Care

HOLIDAY DRIVE FOR CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE: Join in this Giving Season with BHPA Helping Hands

This year we're coordinating with a local organization in our community, the Pleasantville Cottage School, to supply requested items to children in need.  Your generous gifts will help to bring joy to youth ranging in age from 7-21 years throughout the holidays.  

The Pleasantville Cottage School on JCCA’s Westchester Campus is one of the oldest and most respected residential treatment programs in the U.S. The first cottage-style center in the country, it celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012.  Pleasantville Cottage School is home to emotionally troubled boys and girls, ages 7-16 (at admission), with educational, behavioral, and emotional challenges. Their philosophy is that the child is part of a family that must be engaged and helped so that the child can safely return home permanently.  Structured school days, job skills workshops, internships, a youth advisory council and community employment opportunities help ready them to lead independent and productive lives.

There are several ways to support this cause: You may (1) purchase items and have them shipped directly to our committee, (2) purchase similar items on your own and drop them at an upcoming BHPA sponsored event OR drop items at one of our committee members houses (please reach out for details!) and/or (3) use this 'event page' to 'buy a ticket' which will donate any amount of your choosing for this Helping Hands Initiative. Your donation will go directly to purchasing the requested items on behalf of BHPA.
